Ephemeral Landscapes (WT)
2018-2022
-
The project Ephemeral Landscapes (WT) is inspired by a fascination with the short-lived micro landscapes caused by tides, rivers, rain and snow. This ongoing work consists of camera-less cyanotype images, which draw on the traditional Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi - the appreciation of beauty in imperfection and transience. Each image is hand crafted and unique. Having been physically immersed in the natural or replicated environment, water patterns are captured on the light sensitive cyanotype coated paper, each depicting new and changing landscapes.
